San Dieguito Heritage Museum captures coast’s past

As you’re cruising down the coast on your Quintessential California drive, take a short detour up to the San Dieguito Heritage Museum, where this weekend they’re making vintage holiday decorations. Note: Its website was down the last time I checked.

According to the City of Encinitas website, the museum on Quail Gardens Drive has volunteers helping visitors create “poinsettia ornaments and old-fashioned pomanders, made from oranges and cloves, pretty enough to give as a gift or hang as a decoration.”

This perfect San Diego day trip can also include a visit to one of my favorite donut shops, VG Donuts in Cardiff.

The museum is located at 450 Quail Gardens Drive, Encinitas.
