If you’re still looking for something to do this Labor Day, how about heading to the desert, where under-average temperatures in the 90s mean it’s a wonderful time to visit.
With humidity usually in single-digits, anything under 100 in the desert is a great day trip. And it’s still off season, so many of the trails will be empty, even on a holiday. It’s about two hours from San Diego, so if you read this as I post it, there’s time to jump in the car and have lunch in Borrego Springs.
My two desert Amazon Kindle books, Off the Grid Journey and Beautiful Badlands are day trips for anyone with an SUV. Or, just hang out at the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park visitor center; short hiking trails begin there and it’s right in downtown Borrego Springs.
