From Torrey Pines north to Oceanside, the old Coast Highway, once U.S. 101, hugs the cliffs when it’s not going through old beach towns as it heads north to Los Angeles. For a century or more, until Interstate 5 moved the highway a bit inland, this was the way out of town. This drive goes around Oceanside and Carlsbad, then over to Rancho Santa Fe. It’s truly one of my favorite cruises around San Diego County … anywhere, for that matter. Enjoy»
