Here’s the High Bridge, today crossing high over Highway 94 east of Campo, and some day I’ll time it so there’s a train crossing when I hit the shutter.

The old San Diego and Arizona Railroad built the bridge as part of its line east, connecting San Diego to the Southern Pacific line in the Imperial Valley.

Trains from the Pacific Southwest Railroad Museum in Campo sometimes runs excursion trains here. It’s a fun trip for kids. You can reach it on several of my drives around Highway 94.
