I’m asked what’s different about taking one of my Joyrides and why twisty back roads are fun and interesting.

Here’s proof.

I found this video on YouTube of two Corvettes rolling over Old Julian Highway, which parallels Highway 78 from Ramona to near Santa Ysabel. It is, as the name implies, an old road to Julian, by passed by the fun but less curvy Julian Road, today’s Highway 78.

I don’t recommend some of the speeds they seem to have taken, although the camera does make things look faster than they actually are. The sound of those big V-8 engines adds to the drama.

So, if you’re looking for something to do over Thanksgiving holiday, check out Old Julian Highway in my Jaunt to Julian book for Kindle, or the chapter in Joyrides Around San Diego. Among other things, I have a link to a Google map so you can find this great road.
