Never been to the Wisteria Candy Cottage?

Then you’ve probably never taken the Towering Old Highway, Old Highway 80, our own (and I think better) version of Route 66, in East County. It’s one of the Joyrides Around San Diego, just to get the plugs in.

Since 1921, this little house in the little settlement of Boulevard has been home to chocolates hand-dipped on site, plus other goodies. And the aroma here is priceless.

Dana Eacobellis is the third generation running the operation; her grandma started working there in 1940 and bought the business. Dana is usually there during the store’s Thursday-Monday operating hours.

Check out my Highway 80 video that includes some pictures from the store on YouTube. Or just go there and experience it for yourself.
