The snow is falling in San Diego’s mountains, although at this time only in higher-elevation locations such as Mount Laguna and Mount Palomar.

Tips for visiting?

  • Have tire chains and know how to put them on and take them off. The County of San Diego and CalTrans will insist in many areas.
  • Play in public spaces, such as the National Forest picnic areas or State Park lands. Private property isn’t a snow play area; you’ll notice those are places with barbed-wire fences.
  • Take a trash bag or two. Don’t dump your trash in the snow field.
