I received an email today from reader Brian, who had a comment on yesterday’s Weekend Driver in the newspaper.
Your Little Blair Valley article in the UT Sunday: Nice article, but a big error. The state park spends ton of time and money educating the public of the importance of staying on established roads. Throughout you article you referred to both the jeep roads, and hiking paths, as trails. This gave the misimpression that you can drive on trails. Most readers will not realize the mistake. One vehicle driving across a dry lake or desert vista will leave tracks that will scar the landscape for decades. Worse, others will see the tracks and follow them, exacerbating the problem. I’m sure that this wasn’t your intent. Please edit your article and publish an edit. Brian
Good advice! Always stay on the marked trails!
