Ever heard of the Goat Canyon Trestle through Carrizo Gorge? Check out the Science Channel tonight at 10 to find out about this (relatively) famous bridge.

As rugged as the auto route is from San Diego’s mountains to the Imperial Valley, this old train line, originally the San Diego and Arizona Railroad, twists and turns, bridges and tunnels through the rocky, barren eastern edge of our coastal mountain range.

The Science Channel show, Mysteries of the Abandoned, kicks off its first season with a look at this wooden bridge. It’s a favorite of hikers and mountain bikers today, as trains haven’t run through there in years. Here’s a preview of the show.
