The calendar might say July, but it’s still relatively comfortable in our desert to the east. Today’s temps are in the mid-90s and the weekend is supposed to stay below 105. In the ultra-low-humidity of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, that means it can still be a good time to head over and see one of the most unique places on the planet.
So, if you’re not into the Comic-Con in San Diego, make it your San Diego day trip to head on out to Anza-Borrego, one of the largest state parks in the country, for a treat — mid-summer temperatures below normal (105 degrees, this time of year with peaks over 115 degrees).
I’ve got two Joyride Guru books that will get you in and out in a day, Off The Grid Journey and Beautiful Badlands. They’re just $2.99 each and include maps and directions, things to see and what you’ll see on the road. Have a great trip!
