A great site to keep up on all things fall color in California is John Poimiroo’s California Fall Color blog. He posts photos sent in by readers, keeps a map up-to-date with the latest sightings and talks about all things golden in the Golden State. It goes all the way back to 2009, in case you want some historic perspective on what is a spectacular show here on the west coast.

By the way, as of this writing, there’s only a few reports in San Diego County. Our color, which is in spots around the county including the Mt. Laguna and Palomar, comes a bit later, sometimes as late as December.
