Honestly, I haven’t been up there this week, but my guess is that our hills look something like Ireland this week, rather than Southern California brown.

It’s worth a visit to Palomar, Julian, Mt. Laguna or points in-between, such as the meadow off of Lilac Road near Valley Center, pictured here.

How do you get there? Well, here’s the shameless plug for my Kindle books. This photo is taken along the Crazy Couser route; Journey to the Stars at Palomar Mountain will also work. Curves, Dirt and Cuyamaca will also take you beautiful meadows, but watch out or avoid the dirt segment. And Towering Old Highway will take you through Pine Valley and points to Descanso, which should be beautiful.
