Most folks visit Las Vegas to gamble, party and do things that they hope will stay in Vegas.

But having lived there for a short amount of time in my early 20s, there’s a great place not far out of town that worth a visit. I’m not particularly a desert person, a gambler (it’s just a waste of money) and my party days were long behind even when I was living there.

The locals said “go to Mt. Charleston,” and I did. An LA Times reporter recently visited there and here’s his story.
