Wonder about the company that at one time made many of the trailers hauled behind semi’s on the roads around the nation? The American Truck Historical Society is hosting Ruth Ann Fruehauf, granddaughter of the Fruehauf Trailer Company founder, August Fruehauf, at its meeting at 5 p.m. today, May 16, at the San Diego Automotive Museum in Balboa Park.

She’ll be giving a photo show on the company’s history and talking about the Fruehauf Trailer Historical Society. Ruth Ann’s grandfather started the company in 1918; the historical society celebrates the company’s heritage, which included four plants in Southern California.
