A few years ago, I cruised by lakes in all four corners of the county, and with temperatures sizzling, a visit this weekend would make a great break and a wonderful San Diego day trip.

These aren’t swimming lakes. Most of our lakes are reservoirs for drinking water so they don’t allow swimming; but most do allow boating and fishing. They also usually have picnic and places for kid play.

It’s from 2010, so after our wet year, most of the lakes shown will have more water than you seen in the pictures. Enjoy Ultimate Watering Holes.
