For our first Throwback Thursday here at Joyride Guru, here’s 1948 look at the Noah’s Ark diner in Leucadia, a typical roadside attraction from the era, courtesy of the Pomona Public Library.

As far as I can tell, this was located near the old Highway 101 and Leucadia Boulevard. There was a restaurant on this spot for several years (in a newer building) and there are now plans for a hotel on the site.

Make this your next San Diego day trip. There’s more fun and history on the old Coast Highway on my Kindle book, Quintessential California.
